Incubator websites are projects by Alpha Coders that are either just starting out, or still a bit rough around the edges. If you're logged in, you can vote to influence the projects that get developed!
Description: As I Lived is a place to share your story. You can share it either with the world - and inspire countless people, or only share it with those close to you.
Current State: A shell of a website. An old version written in Ruby on Rails needs to be converted to Codeignited.
Goal: To be a useful place to keep track of memories, events, and other information. Profiles could be private, or public and biographical in nature.
Description: UpPing is a resource for monitoring your website's uptime, response time, and comparing this to your competitors!
Current State: Basic monitoring and comparison.
Goal: To be a useful resource for website owners to see what things might be holding them back. Hosting reviews are often very biased because of referrals, and UpPing could be used to have statistical data about hosts over a wide variety of websites.
Description: The url won't work yet! :)
Space Abyss is a browser based game where you battle against other players for planets in the galaxy. There are no game resets, and the universe grows as you explore further into it.
Current State: A twinkle in a developer's eye.
Goal: To create a fun little space exploration/planet grabbing browser based game. Players navigate around the galaxy in a simple top down view, are able to capture planets from other players. The game universe is persistent.
Description: The url won't work yet! :)
Survey Abyss is meant to be a tool to survey the members of Alpha Coders. We have over 50,000 registered members, and having a survey tools would help get a feel for what people wanted/needed.
Current State: A twinkle in a developer's eye
Goal: To create a resource where Alpha Coders and potentially others can create surveys. The current survey website landscape is absolutely full of nickel and dime monetization which is terrible. Survey Abyss would sacrifice some layers of complexity to offer a completely free service.
Description: Marketplace to buy and sell things. Would put sellers directly in contact with buyers. Would allow authors an Alpha Coder's based avenue to sell their digital goods.
Current State: Lots of initial data, some features a bit broken, and no real compelling reason to use the service yet.
Goal: To create a resource for the content creators in Alpha Coders to monetize their content, 100% free of fees.
Additionally, use APIs of various services to create compelling local pages for users. E.g. local events, local places, local discussions, etc.
Description: A place to share and record the books you're interested in and have read.
Current State: A twinkle in a developer's eye
Goal: To create an online library resource for users. Eventually work in recommendations. Other Alpha Coders websites with 'libraries' (Movies, TV Shows, etc) can be used to create unique recommendations.
Goal: To create a resource for music info and images. Disc images, album images, etc. Lots of sorting options to assist with finding new artists. Ideally some sort of integration with a larger music service for added value.
Description: A place for copyright holders to submit their content, and tell website owners how to respond to their content (remove, link to with requirements, link to freely)
Current State: Basic image adding is enabled, but the website api side needs developement. This resource can currently be used to keep materials off of Wallpaper Abyss, though the copyright holder currently needs to contact me directly when they add things as all of the automated processes aren't quite tested.
Goal: To get multiple copyright holders working with multiple website owners to create a mutually beneficial resource. The goal is that website owners will receive less takendown notices, and copyright owners will have to send out a few less.
I'ts not possible to get everyone to join in, but a few large entities will create enough value.
