Recent Server Issues

Hello everyone!
As some of you know there have been quite a few server issues over the last week. I was trying to switch to different servers and they did not work out much to my dismay.
So I'm back on the previous VPS that I had and I'm going to implement a slight caching system that will help things a bit :)

Premium Accounts

I have reintroduced premium accounts to Wallpaper Abyss.
But don't worry, anyone can view up to 150 wallpapers/day. Premium members can view 400 wallpapers/day. Also, premium members get to view the website without any ads at all. If you're interested in signing up for a premium account you can do so here.
It had come to my attention that part of the reason that the site was operating so slow sometimes is that some people would view a good 1000 wallpapers in a single day ( or more - but those are probably bots) and it showcased the need to set some sort of limit.
I watched how people use Wallpaper Abyss and the limit will affect far less than 1% of users. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me.

Art Abyss

We have launched a new website specifically tailored for artists - Art Abyss. People who make wallpapers are artists, and if an artist wanted to submit artwork that was smaller than 1024x768 they had to submit it somewhere else. Not any more!
We still have quite a bit of work to do on the website before it's close to having the same number of features as Wallpaper Abyss but there will be tons of new features every week as it catches up.
Currently submitting art and viewing art is working. Soon there will be support for favorites as well as a journal for artists to let their followers know what they are up to.

Recent Progress

Wallpapers on Free Wallpaper Search will now have the domain they were found at stored so users can see which domains have the most indexed wallpapers.
Some keywords will now also be deleted on a domain level. There are some sites out there that spam certain keywords and they will now get automatically filtered out.
Wallpaper Abyss has a new pagination system! I'll be rolling this system out to the entire site once I'm confident there aren't any big bugs with it.
Also, the cropping system has been revamped a bit. Users can now recrop images and the waiting page is a lot more descriptive.

Alpha Coders Now Has News!

For those of you interested in seeing how Alpha Coders is developing I've added a news feature. Any of the Alpha Coders administrators have the ability to add and edit any news item so there's the chance there will be updates from people other than myself (David) on here.
New Translation System
I'm proud to showcase that there is a new translation system on Wallpaper Abyss. This new translation system still has to be modified a bit but anyone is able to help translate the words and phrases that we use. The translations are going to be moderated very soon so if you would like to help make sure that only good translations get through go ahead and send me an email at admin@alphacoders.com
Other than that there are just a lot of bug fixes today.
